Spending Resolution Affects ACA Taxes

Who knew there was ACA stuff in the stopgap bill to keep the federal government open?  There are two things that our own Matthew Roberts wanted to point out in our latest ACA Update:

  • Cadillac Tax - kicked down the road two more years to 2022.  If I were a betting man, I think this is dead and will never come into existence.
  • Health Insurance Providers Fee - while there isn't an exact percentage to this fee, it's between 3% and 4% of premiums, so it's sizable.  This was excluded for 2017, is back in play this year, but will be out again in 2019.
